Asher possesses a fiercely loyal heart, protecting those he holds dear with unwavering devotion. This fierce loyalty is usually only to those he deems worthy, as his trust is not easily earned. His personality is a blend of raw strength, unyielding determination, and a rebellious spirit. He is also marked by a deep-seated distrust of authority figures which is easily shown in his defiance toward authority figures.
Despite the outward tough exterior and a brooding nature, he is a soul yearning for connection, a longing for companionship and understanding in a world that often misunderstands him. Asher is also a deeply compassionate soul, capable of great empathy and understanding towards others. A man who wishes for peace and equality for all, not just for the elite few. And he is willing to put his life on the line for this belief.
Asher Thorne was born into the Wildwood family, a lineage known for their deep connection to the forests that surrounded their town. His father, Marcus Wildwood, was a skilled hunter who taught his children the ways of the wilderness, instilling in them a reverence for nature and a respect for its inhabitants. So growing up Asher idolized his father, often accompanying him on hunting expeditions and learning the art of tracking and survival. He admired his father's strength and knowledge as well as his commitment to protecting the wilderness.
By the time he was ready to start school, he was enrolled in Thunderbird High School which is where he met his best friend, Shepherd. A group of older students had taken to bullying and trying to harm the other boy and Asher was not about to let that happen on his watch. Springing into action he had broken one nose, a couple of fingers, and definitely battered the bullies into running off. From that day forward the two were inseparable to the point that, as teenagers, many people thought the two were dating.
While in his last year of school his father, Marcus, was wrongly accused of murdering a visiting diplomat. A ploy for a new governor's anti-beasts in civilized places tirade. Despite Marcus's protests of innocence he was arrested and imprisoned, leaving his family devastated. With their father gone, Asher and his family faced a tumultuous time including their need to leave the home they had always known. Their mother, Elara, struggled to provide for them on her own.
This, in combination with other injustices to so-called 'untrustworthy' races, is why Asher decided to start a rebellion. If their Monarchy was not going to treat them equally then the Monarchy must fall. To give some anonymity to the movement he formed a new pack that welcomed anyone wishing to change things and give them the surname. It was an unspoken bond that gave them comradery as well as a sense of belonging. And it served as a way to identify one another without rousing suspicion.
The main goal for Asher is to set free his friend, Shepherd, and bring about change for all those struggling under archaic and biased laws. And one way or another he will see that done!
